Reflection of Assessment
My experience with assessment within the two practicums I have completed has shown me how diverse assessment can be, as well as how different it can be from the textbooks.
I have found that some of my favourite forms of assessment has been comparing student self assessments with my own assessments. It surprised me how well accurately students can assess themselves when compared to my own. I also like how students can feel like they have a say in where they are at with certain subjects which I find invaluable for helping students monitor their own progress.
As I enter my summative practicum I am excited to try a variety of different assessments to find what works for me in this next semester. I am not the biggest fan of testing so I would like to find a way to ease testing anxiety because I do see the value of it for keeping track of student progress.
